I am just a stay at home mom who loves God's creation and wants to make a radical change in our family dynamic by wasting less and loving more.

First Steps
So.... I am sure that today I made some good first steps. I really decided to dedicate to using cloth diapers for two of our three little ones and I just ordered some soy candles to use candle light a little more in the evening rather than electricity. Saturday We all plan on going to the local farmer's market to check out what is sold there in detail and plan for our shopping next week. I would love to get to know our local farmers and ask them a few questions. I plan on doing this for a week and then I will add one more thing to our challenge. This process is all about gradual progress. Even though I am so passionate in this moment, I do have to be realistic we do have three small children to consider. I am feeling positive change!
I can clearly see
I am starting a family experiment! I have not fully committed on a date to start this year long challenge. I want so badly to fall in love more with God, my family, friends and the things that mean the most to me rather than continue being sucked into horrible television and all those worldly things that keep my attention off what matters. It is a challenge to turn the tv off! It is a challenge to not generate much trash! It is a challenge to try and create peace in a very busy world! I want this to work for our family and others like us. I feel like this may change everything we thought mattered and really bring us closer to a perfect family unity. I predict that the kids attitudes will change for the better, that we will be less busy and more passionate about life, and that we will be healthier happier more self controlled people. I am not an extremist I am what my husband would say i am, a realist! I will make less of an impact on the planet while still being real. We are consumers, we do indulge in what we want, we watch much tv, and we take the trash out every couple of days. We need to change our ways now while our kids are still so young. They deserve that from us as parents. I want them to love this planet as much as I do and treat it with kindness. I am going to start by making a list of guidelines for the experiment and then set a start date and for a whole year we will stick to it as I document our family progress. I am sure there will be laughs and tears through this process. My hope is that you will read about our story and take what is real to you and try to make a real change in your family dynamic.
